Energy students: what they need and who can help them [Survey]

Energy students and young professionals from 13 countries reveal their support needs during their years at university and right after graduating in an online survey conducted by the European Energy Students' Network.

Launching a start-up and finding internships in industry are the key aspects where energy students are lacking the most support with, during their years at university. Right after graduation, low support for launching start-ups is also suffered by young energy professionals, together with opportunities to find their first job.

Universities and industry firms are seen as the key providers of support, both while at and after leaving university. They are followed by student-led organizations and entrepreneurs.

Differences between student and working participants was not significant, and they mostly differ in who could help them the most after leaving university. However, strong shifts in support needs between energy students and young professionals in Europe and in other parts of the world are starkly shown in the results.

Our results conveys the message of international energy students about where they need the most support and who are the actors that should get at it.
